Apple permits reopening of ‘fake Apple stores’ in China to trick angry mobs of iPhone 4S-less customers. BEIJING—Following an incident this morning where Chinese consumers pelted Beijing’s flagship Apple store with eggs when it failed to open, Apple has announced the immediate reopening of the country’s network of fake Apple stores. A spokesman for Apple says the company “had no idea China had so many people who could afford the iPhone 4S.” When the Cupertino-based corporation failed to meet demand, Chinese customers fired back, wiping out entire populations of poultry in the process. “We’ve had a change of heart on the whole ‘fake Apple store’ thing,” the representative told us. “We think it’s exactly what the country needs right now.” While none of the product in the fake stores will actually be legitimate, Apple thinks the majority of the population won’t mind. “We know it’s not the function of the iPhone that the average consumer cares about. We’ve known for a while. Most people just want to be seen with one.” The iPhone Faux S will be made of recycled Lego® plastic, and will have the veritable functionality of a dollar store-quality flashlight.
