Source: Yahoo chairman stepped down because he didn’t want to use Yahoo anymore.
SUNNYVALE—Amid continued problems for a search engine giant once on top of the world, a highly trustworthy source revealed today that Yahoo board chairman Roy Bostock and three others have stepped down. According to the source, the four abandoned the company so they wouldn’t have to use its search engine and mail client anymore. “We’ve been sacrificing quality search algorithms and silly holiday doodles to stay with Yahoo for years,” Bostock is reported to have said. “And for what? 24-hour access to Mahjongg?” Since the early 2000’s, Yahoo has enforced a strict, zero tolerance policy on employee use of ‘alternative’ search engine options.
Workers caught using Google, Bing, or even Alta Vista were stripped of their positions immediately, then escorted home with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Bostock and others like him suffered under a regime of outdated technology, cluttered homepages, and mind-numbingly low search result numbers. “I’ve told countless family members and friends, ‘No, I can’t look that up for you; I have Yahoo’ for as long as I can remember,” the chairman lamented. “God forgive me for the time I’ve wasted.” A spokesman for Yahoo stated that the company does not expect to miss him, and also does not expect to be a company for much longer.
